Renewal of Vows

A vow renewal is a ceremony where a couple publicly re-commits to their relationship by expressing their enduring love for one another. Celebrants
There are many reasons a couple may decide to renew their wedding vows. It may be that they would like to mark a significant anniversary, they got married with only a few people present, and you’d like to say wedding vows in front of lots of family and friends, or simply because they think it would be romantic. Whatever the reason, a re-affirmation of the love a couple share should be celebrated! Celebrants
There is no legal significance in a vow renewal ceremony, it is mainly symbolic and sentimental, so there are no set “rules” a couple would have to follow – it can be as simple, or as complex as the couple desire it to be. Celebrants
The following guide may help you to plan your ceremony:
Pick a date
Much like your wedding, you have to decide when to host the vow renewal. An anniversary or a date that is special to the two of you is always a great idea – if possible! But if you’re planning on inviting friends & family to the event, you may want to choose a date when they will be able to attend. For example, if your original wedding date happens to fall on a weekday, you may want to move your event forward a few days to enable a weekend celebration.
Choose a location
One idea is to return to the place where you were originally married. If that’s just nor possible, you should pick a place that is meaningful to the two of you – the park you go for a walk through every Sunday morning, the restaurant that makes your favourite food, the pub you meet after work at every Friday night, or simply the home you share together. Plan your Vows
A large number of couples celebrating a vow renewal choose to use their original wedding vows. But don’t feel limited to the words you said at your wedding. You could add to these vows, to include new sentiments and promises, which have developed since you’ve been married. Alternatively, you may choose to write something completely new, which I would be more than happy to assist you with. Celebrants
You could invite friends and relatives as you would for a big wedding, or you and your spouse can renew your vows together, just the two of you. Some couples also rejoice in being able to include children in the ceremony. It’s a sweet way to remember what your wedding day actually meant and to remind yourselves and your loved ones, of the promises you made to each other.
